All of us, people of all cultures throughout the world are worried about our children. Too many of them are technical wizards and moral incompetents. Too many of them are committing senseless acts of violence towards others and themselves. The leading cause of death among youth ages 15 to 24 in North America is murder. The suicide rate is climbing alarmingly around the world. There are now studies of young offenders who have committed violence without any apparent cause. When researchers asked them, “Why? Why did you do it?” their answer 90% of the time was boredom. “I was bored.” they say. Well, what is boredom? It is a disease of meaninglessness.

In child rearing, The Virtues Project is an approach to bringing out the best in children – their innate qualities of character. “Parents are the first educators, those best able to impart values and virtues to their children. The world needs people who are willing to take personal responsibility. Let it be this generation”. Linda Kavelin Popov, The Family Virtues Guide
